Our Story

In 1970, Edmonton had very few seniors’ homes and there was an obvious gap in services for the older population. A group of individuals were concerned about the well-being of their aging parents. They saw an opportunity and felt a call to make a difference not only for their parents, but also for Edmontonians. What started as an idea over coffee has grown into seven locations in Alberta, serving over 1,000 seniors and other individuals.
To provide quality care and quality accommodations within an efficient and effective organization.

Types of Care

Shepherd’s Care Foundation is a faith-based, not-for-profit organization providing quality care and accommodations to more than 1000 seniors and other individuals throughout Alberta. Our six campuses provide living options for a full spectrum of care, including independent living, supportive living, supportive living with dementia, long-term care and complex care.

Independent living options are also offered through Shepherd's Gardens Trust.
