Our Story
In 1970, Edmonton had very few seniors’ homes and there was an obvious gap in services for the older population. A group of individuals were concerned about the well-being of their aging parents. They saw an opportunity and felt a call to make a difference not only for their parents, but also for Edmontonians. What started as an idea over coffee has grown into six locations in Edmonton and one in Barrhead, serving over 900 seniors and other individuals.

Shepherd’s Care Foundation is a faith-based, not-for-profit organization providing quality care and accommodations to more than 900 seniors throughout Edmonton and Barrhead. Our seven campuses provide living options for a full spectrum of care, including independent living, supportive living, supportive living with dementia, long-term care, and complex care.

Shepherd’s Care Barrhead is located in the lively community northwest of Edmonton.
Eden House is an innovative care community on the verge of becoming a true campus of Age-in-Place Care.
Shepherd’s Care Vanguard is nestled in the quiet community of Westwood in north Edmonton.
Shepherd’s Care Kensington Campus is the largest of our communities with over 600 residents calling it home.
Our Millwoods Campus is conveniently located in southeast, providing a full range of age in place options.
The Pastoral Care and Chaplaincy Department plays an integral role in extending Christian care and support to our residents and their families.
