Reporting to the Program Manager, Rehabilitation (PM), the Manager, Occupational Therapy (Manager) is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating occupational therapy interventions for all continuing care home Type A (CCH-A) residents and for leading the site’s therapy team of Rehabilitation Aides and Assistants. The Manager functions within the Mission, Vision, and Values of SCF and the standards of professional practice and ensures departmental compliance with continuing care health service standards, accommodation standards, employment and safety-related legislation, codes, and regulation, and SCF policies and procedures. The Manager acts and ensures the therapy team acts as a resident advocate and provides support to the residents and families in an environment that promotes a state of wellness, independence, and person-centered care. In their practice, the Manager is committed to continuous quality improvement.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor or Master of Science in Occupational Therapy and maintain current registration and a practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT). A minimum of two years’ experience in geriatrics and continuing care is preferred, along with AADL Authorizer status. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently, clearly, and efficiently.
