Supportive Living (SL4)

Supportive Living allows individuals to enjoy a home-like setting with the comfort of having health care services provided. It is a great option for individuals who may have medical needs that can be managed to maintain a semi-independent lifestyle.

 Admission to the Supportive Living program is only through assessment by Alberta Health Services, much like SL4 and long-term care.

Supportive Living (SL4-D)

Supportive Living (SL4-D) allows individuals to enjoy a home-like setting with the comfort of having health care services provided. With the added supports for each of our residents diagnosed with mid-stage dementia, we offer a safe and secure environment. Our staff are trained for dementia care and understand the needs of our residents.

Admission to the Supportive Living program is only through assessment by Alberta Health Services, much like SL4 and long-term care.

Complex Care

Complex Care is a specialized stream of care for individuals with complex behavioural, physical and emotional needs. Typically, these individuals require greater individual attention and specialized care plans. Our Complex Care staff undergo specialized training to meet the needs of those we serve. 

Admission to Complex Care is only through assessment by Alberta Health Services, much like SL4 and long-term care.

  • Increased staff to patient ratio to handle complex behavioral, physical, and emotional needs

Long-Term Care

Long term care is a great option for those who are unable to stay at home or in supportive living, because of complex or unpredictable needs and require monitored care. Care is monitored by a Registered Nurse (RN).

Admission to long term care units is only through assessment by Alberta Health Services. Residents pay a government regulated accommodation charge, which covers room and board (three meals per day plus snacks), housekeeping, linen and bedding laundry and some building maintenance costs.

  • 24 hour nursing care (Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurse)
  • Registered dietitian, dental, denturist and pharmacy services
  • Hearing aid services
  • Foot care
  • Occupational therapy
  • Physiotherapy

Independent Living

Independent Living is a perfect option for those who may be looking to downsize or move into a community of like-minded individuals while living an independent lifestyle. Care services can be coordinated and residents can access on-site amenities and programs.

Independent suites are available through our wholly-owned subsidiary  Shepherd's Gardens Trust, and include newly renovated senior's rental apartments at three convenient locations.
