The Opportunity

Reporting to the President & CEO, the General Manager (GM) is the senior operational leader for Prince of Peace (PoP), accountable for the overall performance, sustainability, and reputation of the campus of care. The GM provides operational leadership across all programs, ensuring high-quality, person-centered care and services are aligned with SCF’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

The GM is responsible for achieving and maintaining operational excellence, resident and family satisfaction, full occupancy, employee engagement, regulatory compliance, and financial sustainability. Through collaborative leadership, the GM fosters a culture of accountability, innovation, and service excellence while strengthening community partnerships, full occupancy and revenue, and ensuring that PoP becomes and remains a trusted and respected provider of care for those that we serve.

This full-time role is based out of Prince of Peace, located at 300 Prince of Peace Way Rocky View County, which is just outside of Calgary, AB. Prince of Peace is a dynamic seniors’ community with 129 independent and assisted living rental suites, offering flexible housing, coordinated care services, and convenient on-site amenities. It’s a place where independence is supported, care evolves with changing needs, and community comes first.

Salary for this position is commensurate with education and experience.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide overall operational and strategic leadership for a multi-service campus, ensuring alignment with SCF’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Behaviour Standards;

  • Lead annual business planning, operational goals, and performance metrics to achieve service excellence, full occupancy, and financial sustainability;

  • Maintain full profit and loss accountability, including budgeting, forecasting, variance management, and revenue growth;

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, continuing care, and quality standards;

  • Build, mentor, and lead an interdisciplinary leadership team in a unionized environment;

  • Foster a positive, accountable workplace culture that supports recruitment, retention, and performance;

  • Act as a visible ambassador with residents, families, community partners, government bodies, and external stakeholders;

  • Oversee leasing and support marketing efforts to maintain full occupancy;

  • Ensure a strong commitment to occupational health and safety and risk management.

The successful candidate will have post-secondary education in Business Administration, Health Administration, Management, or related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience), along with seven (7) to ten (10) years of progressive senior leadership experience in a complex, regulated environment such as seniors’ housing, healthcare, or hospitality. They will bring demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams in a unionized setting, strong financial and operational acumen, and experience overseeing budgets, compliance, and performance accountability. A solid understanding of Alberta’s seniors’ care system is considered an asset, along with exceptional leadership, communication, and relation-ship building skills.
