Guiding Principles for Safe Visiting
Updated October 29, 2020
In consultation with our families and based on our risk assessment and the requirements under Chief Medical Officer of Health Order 29-2020, Shepherd’s Care has put together our Guiding Principles for Safe Visiting. This material must be reviewed by all visitors to our sites prior to visiting. You can access the guiding principles here.
Effective October 27, 2020, the Chief Medical Officer of health has restricted visitation in the Edmonton zone to the Designated Support Person(s) only.
As of this time, based on the risk assessment required under CMOH Order 29-2020 for each site and taking into account the community spread in Edmonton, Shepherd’s Care will not be permitting un-monitored in-room visits at all locations in Edmonton. We will continue to facilitate outdoor visits, indoor visits in common areas, and visits using Zoom and Skype.
At this time, the risk in Barrhead is low and we will continue to permit in-room visits under the visitation Policy.
The risk assessment for each site is evaluated at least once every three weeks and the visitation policy may change accordingly.
