Dispute Resolution

At Shepherd’s Care Foundation, we strive to work openly and collaboratively with our family members as partners in care. Our Safe Visitation Policy was put together with extensive feedback from families, and with the risk tolerance of each site in mind. Ultimately, we feel we have struck the right balance between the security of the staff and residents in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and the needs of residents and families to safely visit.

In the event of a dispute between a family member and Shepherd’s Care Foundation about the policy, its administration, or its enforcement, we have designed a progressive three-step dispute resolution process. The process must be followed in order to ensure all disputes are handled in a timely manner.

The full dispute resolution process is available here. Please note the first step in collaboratively resolving any dispute is to bring it to the attention of the site director of care of charge nurse.
