Shepherd’s Care Foundation Safe Visitation Policy

In May 2021, the Chief Medical Officer of Health issued Order 16-2021 which increased the number of Designated Family Support Persons (DFSPs) to four, and provided for increased social visiting based on the risk tolerance and layout of the site. We conducted a foundation-wide resident survey and over 60% voted to relax restrictions.

The result is our updated  Safe Visitation Policy which will be reviewed periodically.

General Visitation Information

  1. The details of the updated Safe Visitation Policy are available here.
  2. All visits will continue to be pre-scheduled. Designated Visitors can schedule visits online here.
  3. All visitors must complete the updated  COVID-19 Visitor Education training. This consists of a training deck and a video. When you arrive, you will be asked to certify that you have completed the training.
  4. Our Safe Visitation Policy was developed in dialogue with our families and residents and with the individual risk tolerance of each site in mind. If there are any disputes about the policy or its administration, please refer to our Dispute Resolution Process.
