It’s been a busy year for Shepherd’s Care Foundation, as we continue introducing new ways to fulfill Christian Mission and our vision of providing quality care and quality accommodations within an efficient and effective organization. As we work on rolling out these initiatives, I’m pleased to let you know there is much for our residents and families to look forward to in 2020.
In the new year, we will continue replacing old furniture, adding fresh coats of paint, and installing new floors and efficient lighting that will make our campuses feel more like home. We will be directing fundraised dollars to the purchase of new, state-of-the-art shower chairs for our residents in long-term care, and we are working on improving our communications with everyone involved in caring for our residents. At our Millwoods campus, we have renovation plans that will provide our residents with a proper space for church services, and make their daily lives easier as they navigate between dining, activities, and their rooms. These plans may take us a few years, but know we are working on them now, to benefit our residents in the future.
At Kensington our largest campus of care, we will be constructing a new head office building to provide much needed administrative space as we continue to grow and spread our Christian Mission of caring for others. This move will free up much needed space at Millwoods campus to meet resident needs. Additionally, we are completing plans for a new seniors care, age-in-place, true campus of care attaching Eden house and Southside Manor together. On this campus we will provide the full continuum of care from seniors independent living at Southside Manor, Supportive Living, Supportive Living with Dementia, Long-term Care to the current complex care being provided at Eden House.
It will also be a year of celebrations, as 2020 marks 50 years since our organization was established. Our Strategic Leadership Team along with our Mission Effectiveness Team has several events planned, allowing us to celebrate together throughout the year.
On the subject of celebrations, the Christmas season is upon us, and we would love for you to join us at one of our Resident Christmas parties listed in your Recreation Calendar. Family members are always welcome to join us at these events, as we celebrate the birth of our savior Jesus Christ - over food, fellowship, music and refreshments.
On behalf of the Board of Directors and Strategic Leadership Team at Shepherd’s Care Foundation, I wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas, and may God bless you with good health and happiness in the new year.
Best Wishes during this time of celebration.
