Volunteering

Volunteering with the Shepherd's Care Foundation is an excellent way to give back to the community and learn about working in the health care environment. For high school and post-secondary students, time spent volunteering can guide career paths, build resumes, and offer opportunities to apply fresh ideas to programs and services. For young professionals, parents, and retirees, volunteering with the Shepherd's Care Foundation brings much satisfaction.
Volunteer opportunities are available at all of our sites. Two of our longstanding volunteer groups are highlighted below but you can make a difference in your life and the lives of our residents by volunteering in any of the following areas:
Pastoral Care, Recreation Therapy, Physiotherapy, Pet Therapy, Resident Services, Seasonal/Special Events, Gardening, Intergenerational Mix, Second Language Companion, Gift Shop, and Music Programs
Print a volunteer application form, and, when complete, bring it to one of our sites or fax it to 780-462-1643.

KENSINGTON VILLAGE AUXILIARY
For over 10 years, the Kensington Village Auxiliary has been dedicated to enhancing the celebration of life of each resident through faithful volunteering, effective fundraising and ongoing prayer support. The Auxiliary provides a place where newcomers can experience friendship and fun with other residents - the “Welcome Wagon” and various socials are held throughout the year.
All of the residents of Kensington Village have benefited from the projects made possible by the fundraising efforts of the Kensington Village Auxiliary – through bake sales, gift card sales and raffles. Projects like the garden court yard, physiotherapy equipment, and Christmas Stockings to Long Term Care and Assisted Living Residents are just a few of the wonderful ways that the Auxiliary has enhanced the life of the residents of Kensington Village.
