Submit your photos of Alberta’s wildlife, anything from birds to bears.

Alberta is known for its diverse weather and beautiful sunsets, submit your photos of wild thunderstorms, snow storms and captivating sunrises/sunsets.


* Remember to submit photos from all seasons: Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer, which will correlate with the months on the calendar.

Rules & Regulations

General

To enter, fill out the form on the Shepherd’s Care Foundation website. Entries are limited to 10 photos per person and each photo can only be submitted to one category. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 11:59p.m. MST.

Format of Photograph Submission

Photographs must be scenic photos of Alberta locations, landscape only (approximately 11 inches wide by 8 1/2 inches high). All photographs must be in digital format and high resolution. The photograph file must be 1 MB (Megabyte) or greater. No photos in the KB (Kilobyte) range will be accepted. Photograph format must be in jpg, jpeg, png or gif format.

Personal Information

Any submission selected as a winner will be published including first and last name and city/province of residence of the individual and a caption of where the photograph was taken.

Eligibility

There is no cost to enter the contest or to win a prize. Each entrant has the chance to win up to two photos in the calendar. By submitting a photo, the entrant agrees to abide by the rules and regulations. Only the photographer has the right to submit their photo. Photographs being submitted must be an original and the work of the entrant. Individuals cannot submit photos that have already been published for something else.

Publication

By submitting a photo to the contest, the entrant grants Shepherd’s Care Foundation the rights to publish and distribute the winning photo as well as the entrants first and last name, city/province of residence of individual submitting the image and a caption of where the photograph was taken. The entrant will receive no further compensation for future publication. Winners agree that without further payment, their winning photo may be used in future promotions.

Copyright

Photographic entries must not violate any laws or any third party rights, including, but not limited to copyright, patent, trademark, and must not contain material that would be considered defamatory, inappropriate or a privacy violation.

Judging

A group of seven judges which will include a combination of SCF staff, volunteers and residents will determine the 14 winning photos on August 8, 2019. Winners will be notified via email or by phone if no email address is provided. All decisions of the judges are final. The judges must confirm the photo meets the requirements for formatting purposes before awarding the winning photographs.

Prize Conditions

Winning contestants will receive a prize of a $50 gift card for each winning photo. The entrant must accept the prize as rewarded and agrees to no further compensation.

Disqualification

If the entrant violates any of the Rules and Regulations they will be disqualified from the contest. If the entrant submits a photo that is not their own work or violates any copyright laws they will be disqualified from the contest and will be banned from entering any contests for the Shepherd’s Care Foundation in the future.

All entrants must read the Rules and Regulations before submitting photos. By submitting a photo, the entrant agrees to abide by the Rules and Regulations.
