Community Involvement
Shepherd’s Care staff, volunteers, and residents demonstrate their care by supporting our communities inside and outside of our buildings. The Food Bank in Edmonton and Barrhead, and a school for Guatemalan children living in an impoverished area with no available education were the charities chosen to support.
Barrhead again rose to the challenge to make the "Stuff the Bus" event a huge success both in the overwhelming response of staff who volunteered their time and the amount of donations. In total, over 781 lbs. of food and $692.23 was donated to the Barrhead Food Bank.
In Edmonton, 990 lbs. of food was collected at all Shepherd's Care locations and brought to the food bank on January 10th .
In addition, staff had the opportunity to donate monetary amounts through payroll deduction to either local food banks or to suppport disadvantaged children in Guatemala. Donations were matched by Shepherd's Care Foundation.
