While reporting to the Therapeutic Service Manger, the Recreation Therapy Attendant/Aide will utilize their skills and expertise to maximize resident participation and engagement in meaningful therapeutic activities. The activities are uniquely designed by the Recreation Therapist to best suit individual’s physical, social, emotional and intellectual abilities. With passion and a genuine interest for elders, particularly those living with Dementia, along with expertise in music and art, the attendant’s role is essential in providing the best possible experience for those living in our care as delegated by the Recreation Therapist. As a member of the Therapeutic team, there is an expectation of compliance with Alberta Continuing Care Health Service Standards, employment and safety standards and SCF policies. The Recreation Attendant/Aide provides support, advocacy, and choice to residents and their families and will ensure the highest quality of resident focused care is achieved within the Mission, Vision and Values of Shepherd’s Care Foundation.
